A beautiful book dedicated to the pioneer of photography in Palestine between 1920 and 1940, this trilingual monograph offers French-, English- and Arabic-speaking audiences access to previously unpublished material. Karimeh Abboud's photographs bring to life the faces and landscapes of Palestine before the Nakba of 1948. The book presents a detailed biography of this exceptional figure by Ahmed Mrowat, founder of the Nazareth Archives Project conservation centre, as well as a typology of all the selected photographs. Finally, the contribution of historian Sandrine Mansour provides valuable additional insight into the reception of this rediscovered memory.
